I’m glad you’re here!  This is the new home of The Japanese Pattern Challenge.

 Why a new home, you may ask?  Quite simply, I outgrew my original mission to make just one of the coats in Ryuichiro Shimazaki’s book of Men’s Coats.

Making my own clothes has become an important facet of my life.  At its core is the profound joy I get from the simple act of “making”.  The added benefit is that I get to have the clothes that I really want.  And that, I believe, is a luxury worth sharing.

I’m here to share my journey, and hopefully encourage you in the process.  Together, we can make our world a much more interesting and joyous place in which to live.
